Arriving at the Underground Chapel, Grisha pleads with Frieda Reiss for the sake of Eldia and the Walls, but his cries are neglected. Grisha uses the Attack Titan to steal the Founding TitanĪfter holding the Attack Titan for thirteen years, Wall Maria comes under attack by the Warriors of Marley, and Grisha decides the time has come to negotiate with the Founding Titan or take it by force. ![]() After his arrival in Shiganshina District, it is unknown how often Grisha made use of his Attack Titan, if at all. Upon inheriting the Attack Titan from Kruger, Grisha used his Titan to head northwards towards the Walls, where he was found by soldier Keith Sadies of the Scout Regiment. Afterward, Kruger entrusted Grisha with the mission to obtain the Founding Titan from the King of the Walls and passed on his Attack Titan. At the borderline, after the Restorationists were turned into Pure Titans and sent to wander the island, Kruger made use of the Attack Titan to destroy the Public Security and their ship before disposing of all evidence of the event. During the thirteen years he held the Attack Titan, it is unknown how often he used it, if at all, until the year 832 when he brought Grisha Jaeger to Paradis Island. In the year 819, an Eldian spy in the Marley Public Security named Eren Kruger inherited the Attack Titan from an unknown predecessor. During the Great Titan War as Marley gradually gained control over seven of the Nine Titans, the Attack Titan evidently never fell into Marley's hands and remained on the mainland while the Founding Titan remained overseas on Paradis Island where the 145th Fritz King, Karl Fritz, relocated the capital. Though this Titan was presumably caught up in the conflict of houses between the eight Titans of the Eldian Empire subservient to the Founding Titan, it is said that the Attack Titan always fought for the freedom of Eldia no matter the day and age. The Attack Titan, like all the Nine Titans, was brought into the world after the death of Ymir Fritz. However, just like how memories from the past were often incomplete, memories from the future were incomplete as well: Eren did not know that Ymir Fritz only obeys those with royal blood. Grisha also saw the Rumbling, and, horrified, begged Zeke to stop Eren.Įren saw that he was able to reach the Coordinate in the unknown land after seeing the future from Grisha's memories. Grisha Jaeger knew of the Founding Titan's bloodline restriction from the future memories of his son, Eren. Eren Kruger received memories of Grisha Jaeger telling his son to protect Mikasa Ackermann and Armin Arlelt, although he did not know whose memories they were. These memories led those with the Attack Titan to move forward, fighting for freedom. While all of the Nine Titans could receive memories of past inheritors, the Attack Titan could also receive memories of inheritors yet to come. 3.3 The 57th Exterior Scouting Mission arc. ![]()

9/27/2023 0 Comments Space pinball 3d![]() ![]() NCommander did find a collision detection bug on the Itanium, although that bug was nowhere as severe as the one that existed on the Alpha AXP. And that’s the system that had the broken collision detector. I could test my 64-bit port on a physical Alpha AXP system to validate that it was successful. The team set to work, and we had 64-bit Windows running on physical Alpha AXP hardware long before we had any physical Itanium hardware. The hard part was going from 32-bit to 64-bit. Once you got a 64-bit version of Windows working for the Alpha AXP, it should be a comparatively small amount of additional work to port it to Itanium. ![]() The assumption was somewhat validated by experience: The 32-bit Windows code base had been ported to many 32-bit processors, with relatively few architecture-specific issues. The assumption is that most of the effort in porting Windows to the Itanium is in the 32-bit to 64-bit transition, and not in dealing with quirks of the specific 64-bit processor you are porting to. But the Alpha AXP did have the advantage of existing in physical form, so the system could finish booting before the heat death of the universe. Now, 64-bit Windows on the Alpha AXP would never ship. Solution: Port the Alpha AXP version of 32-bit Windows to 64-bit Windows. It’s just that 32-bit Windows used only the 32-bit subset. The Alpha AXP is internally a 64-bit processor. No Itanium hardware on the immediate horizon.A 32-bit version of Windows that runs on the Alpha AXP.A bunch of developers who have experience with the Alpha AXP.A lot of Alpha AXP machines sitting around with nothing to do.In 1999, Compaq announced that it would no longer support Windows on the Alpha AXP, which left a lot of Windows team members with cumbersome paperweights on their desks. On the other hand, the Windows team did have access to a lot of copies of another 64-bit processor: The Alpha AXP. Clearly not the development environment you wanted when porting millions of lines of code. ![]() Booting Windows on an Itanium simulator took forever. The only way you could run any Itanium code was to run it in a simulator. When the 64-bit Windows project started, there was no Itanium hardware yet. I was amazed at the level of thoroughness (and the fortitude it required to get those Itanium systems up and running, much less debug them), but there’s one version of 64-bit Windows that NCommander didn’t try out, and that’s the one that’s relevant to the story. Retrocomputing enthusiast NCommander even undertook a Zapruder-level analysis of all of the 64-bit versions of Windows he could find to prove or disprove my story. One point of contention is over my claim that I removed Pinball from Windows because I couldn’t get the 64-bit version to work. People keep asking if it can be brought back. My proudest achievement of Windows XP was fixing the game so it didn’t consume 100% CPU. A customer used their support contract to ask how to change among the three levels of play in Space Cadet Pinball. Check out the best Arcade1Up deals below, and read our review of the brand’s Fast & Furious Arcade Cabinet for an in-depth dive into why we love them.Space Cadet Pinball has a special place in the hearts of many Windows enthusiasts. If you’re looking for a new way to entertain houseguests, want a new distraction for the kids, or have always wanted an arcade cabinet in your living room, now’s a great time to buy an Arcade1Up machine. The Capcom Legacy Arcade Game Yoga Flame Edition comes with 14, including Street Fighter II Turbo. And the best part about these cabinets is that although they’re typically modeled after one game, they usually include way more. Many models also have Wi-Fi to showcase global leaderboards and share scores with other Arcade1Up players. You can find both arcade styles-as well as digital pinball machines-currently on sale. The brand also produces “counter-cade” versions of arcade games with an even smaller footprint, with tabletop models that are slightly under 2 feet long. For example, its Bandai Namco Pac-Man Edition arcade cabinet is shy of 5 feet tall-about a foot shorter than its 1980 debut cabinet. That means you can grab classic arcade games like Pac-Man, Golden Tee 3D Golf, NBA JAM: Shaq Edition, and Pong at a steep discount and play them from the comfort of your home, no quarters required.Īrcade1Up recreates classic arcade games with models more compact than their original cabinet size to fit into a living space. It’s worth noting at this stage that we still refer to ourselves as ‘reluctant hikers’ rather than ‘natural born’ ones despite hiking being such a big feature of how we explore certain new and old places on our travels! You wouldn’t go to Scotland and not try whisky, now would you?įor certain sights and attractions, you can absolutely choose to take a tour which removes the majority of the hard work and planning, but the beauty of going the long way round over multiple days on your own two feet provides a really rich experience, access to secluded scenery, and insight into day-to-day countryside life.Īnd even if you opt to take a tour because you aren’t a fan of independent hikes or are worried about fitness, it’s likely that you will still have to cover at least few kilometres on foot to reach that glacier lake, mountain peak, or Incan city in the clouds. You may think we’re labouring the point here, but we simply can’t emphasise enough how essential hikes are to the classic Peruvian travel experience. To make life easier for you - and to hopefully set your mind at ease and help avoid some rookie mistakes - here are our 12 essential things to know before hiking in Peru. So, if you’re planning your own Peru route right now, the chances are that you’re already a keen hiker who can’t wait to take on the Andes, Cordillera Blanca, jungle paths, and walk Incan trails to hidden ruins - or perhaps you’re a reluctant hiker trying to work out exactly how you’re going to manage to so many bloody hikes in the space of a few weeks! What about the altitude? Which ones can’t you miss? What do you need to pack?! The cities and coastline of Peru offer some great experiences and cultural insights, but it’s out walking through these remote places where you will really fall for Peru, have more meaningful interactions, and gain a deeper insight into how its history has been shaped by its soils and citadels. In fact, we worked out that on our six week trip to Peru, our second visit to the country, we spent 45% of our time on hikes! And, unsurprisingly, many of our very favourite experiences were on those mountains, down those trails, and in those valleys. ![]() Machu Picchu, the Colca Canyon, the Santa Cruz Trek and any number of day hikes in and around Huaraz in the north or the Sacred Valley in the south when it comes to the land of the Incas it’s clear that many places worth visiting lie at the end of a dusty trail. ![]() Nowhere in South America is this statement better summed up than in Peru. ![]() 9/26/2023 0 Comments Define equalizer![]() ![]() Blind equalizer: estimates the transmitted signal without knowledge of the channel statistics, using only knowledge of the transmitted signal's statistics.Decision feedback equalizer: augments a linear equalizer by adding a filtered version of previous symbol estimates to the original filter output.Zero-forcing equalizer: approximates the inverse of the channel with a linear filter.MMSE equalizer: designs the filter to minimize E, where e is the error signal, which is the filter output minus the transmitted signal.Linear equalizer: processes the incoming signal with a linear filter. It may be a simple linear filter or a complex algorithm. In digital communications, the equalizer's purpose is to reduce intersymbol interference to allow recovery of the transmit symbols. Picturephone circuits also had equalizers. Modern digital telephone systems have less trouble in the voice frequency range as only the local line to the subscriber now remains in analog format, but DSL circuits operating in the MHz range on those same wires may suffer severe attenuation distortion, which is dealt with by automatic equalization or by abandoning the worst frequencies. Without it dispersion causes the loss of integrity of the original wave-shape and is seen as smearing of what were originally sharp edges in the picture. The second issue is that phase equalization is essential for an analog television signal. ![]() To keep this manageable, television equalizer sections were often combined into a single network using ladder topology to form a Cauer equalizer. A television equalizer consequently typically requires more filter sections than an audio equalizer. The first of these is that the television signal is a wide bandwidth covering many more octaves than an audio signal. Equalization was also applied to correct the response of the transducers, for example, a particular microphone might be more sensitive to low frequency sounds than to high frequency sounds, so an equalizer would be used to increase the volume of the higher frequencies ( boost), and reduce the volume of the low frequency sounds ( cut).Ī similar approach to audio was taken with television landlines with two important additional complications. It is necessary to remove or cancel any loading coils in the line before equalization can be successful. This was particularly useful for broadcasters who needed "music" quality, not "telephone" quality on landlines carrying program material. These kinds of equalizers can also be used to produce a circuit with a wider bandwidth than the standard telephone band of 300 Hz to 3.4 kHz. Equalizing filters must cancel out any group delay and phase delay between different frequency components.Īnalog telecommunications Audio lines Įarly telephone systems used equalization to correct for the reduced level of high frequencies in long cables, typically using Zobel networks. In this application the actual waveform of the transmitted signal must be preserved, not just its frequency content. Telephones, DSL lines and television cables use equalizers to prepare data signals for transmission.Įqualizers are critical to the successful operation of electronic systems such as analog broadcast television. When a channel has been equalized the frequency domain attributes of the signal at the input are faithfully reproduced at the output. Equalizers are used to render the frequency response-for instance of a telephone line- flat from end-to-end. ![]() In telecommunication, equalization is the reversal of distortion incurred by a signal transmitted through a channel. ![]() 9/26/2023 0 Comments Resident evil 14 remake![]() ![]() Get behind the pillar on the left then return fire until he jumps down. But have you heard of Tend and Befriend?Įssentially, Tend and Befriend is the impulse to reach out for connection and social comfort when stressed or in danger. We’ve all heard of Fight, Flight and Freeze - those beautiful and immediate ways our nervous system tries to keep us and others safe when confronted with real or apparent danger. This co-counseling program is a form of mutual aid, and is based on our own nervous system specifically our most recently evolved stress response. Resilience, hope and empowerment is within reach. While your anxiety and grief is part of your wholeness, it does not have to be your primary experience. Nonetheless, this is also what starts to happen when we begin the process of befriending our experience. Coupled with an internal sense of alarm, it can be difficult to see how anything else IS possible. While feeling emotionally bludgeoned is understandable, this can also be fueled by fatalistic and entrenched storylines (perpetuated in great part by media) that “We’re F*cked”. OF MUTUAL BENEFIT offers practices and tools for resilience while also seeking to strengthen social connections, community and emotional intelligence. Yet, we are all in this together, and I see this as our strength. Dominant powers benefit from a populous that is overwhelmed and disempowered. It is also appropriate and is a normal response, when witnessing injustice and violence towards people and planet - whether this stems from racism, climate change, political chicanery, ecocide, genocide, the dehumanizing aspects of Capitalism, or truthfully, the intersectionality of it all. The anxiety, grief, rage and overwhelm you may be feeling as you consider our collective present and future can be difficult, painful and frightening. If you have found yourself here (and welcome!), then you - like so many others - are trying to find your way through The Psychology of Now. OF MUTUAL BENEFIT is a no-cost, four part series, for you and a partner, to explore, co-support, process and find resilience through the distress, overwhelm, anxiety, grief, rage etc. ![]() |
